Why I Started This: A Lawyer-Turned-Coach’s Mission to Help You Reclaim Your Life

What If You’ve Been Looking in the Wrong Place for Answers?

For years, I thought I could outthink stress. I was an attorney—logic, problem-solving, and evidence were my strengths. When things felt overwhelming, I told myself to push through, work harder, be stronger. That’s what high-achieving women do, right?

But no matter how much I knew about stress, I couldn’t seem to escape it. Anxiety lived in my body like a permanent resident. No amount of willpower could change that.

What I didn’t realize back then was this: the answers weren’t in my mind. They were in my nervous system.

My Story: From Law to Trauma Recovery & Nervous System Science

For nearly two decades, I lived in a constant state of survival. Chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, and navigating personal trauma shaped my world.

As a lawyer, I saw firsthand how the legal system fails trauma survivors—especially those dealing with covert narcissists, high-conflict divorces, and emotional abuse. The law operates on logic and facts, but trauma doesn't. Trauma lives in the body, memory, and nervous system, often in ways that don’t make sense to outsiders.

During my own high-stress experiences—both personally and professionally—I kept wondering:

  • Why do smart, capable women get stuck in survival mode?

  • Why do we freeze in moments we need to take action?

  • Why do years of talk therapy, journaling, and mindset work still leave so many of us feeling unsafe, anxious, or exhausted?

I needed answers beyond traditional psychology and personal resilience strategies. That’s when I discovered Polyvagal Theory and nervous system regulation.

Learning about how the nervous system controls our responses to stress and trauma changed everything for me. It helped me reclaim my sense of safety, confidence, and self-trust. And I knew I wasn’t the only one who needed this knowledge.

Why This Matters: The Missing Link in Healing & Personal Growth

Most personal development and healing approaches focus on mindset shifts—which can be helpful, but they don’t work if your nervous system is still stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode.

If you’ve ever:
✔️ Had trouble making decisions because of stress or anxiety
✔️ Felt like you should have “moved on” but still feel stuck
✔️ Overthought every interaction, trying to anticipate someone else’s reaction
✔️ Struggled with people-pleasing, boundary-setting, or reclaiming your personal power

Then chances are, it’s not a mindset problem. It’s a nervous system problem.

When I realized this for myself, it changed everything. And now, I’m here to help other high-achieving women make that same shift—from overthinking and burnout to safety, clarity, and confidence.

What You Can Expect Here: A New Approach to Healing & Growth

I created this blog (and my coaching practice) because I want more women to have access to the tools I wish I had earlier.

Here, you’ll find:
Science-backed insights on nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, and Polyvagal Theory
Practical tools you can use right now to feel calmer, safer, and more in control
Real talk about why traditional self-help and therapy often fall short
Support for high-achieving women who have spent years pushing through stress and are ready for a different approach

This isn’t about “positive thinking” or forcing yourself to be resilient. It’s about learning how to work with your body, not against it.
